“Power in the family!”

“Power in the family!”

To support parents in this uneasy role, which is setting a good example and protection of minors against access to alcohol, Food Workers Secretariat "Solidarity" with the Partner, The Union of Brewing Industry Employers – Polish Breweries, have launched “Power in the Family!” programme. It supports smart education and prevention of threats resulting from irresponsible alcohol use. To prevent children from drinking alcohol parents should follow Ten Commandments of the Responsible Parent:

1. I clearly set the limits - alcohol is for adults only
2. I never offer alcohol to children
3. I never abuse alcohol in the presence of children
4. I don’t encourage anyone to drink, especially around children
5. I don’t joke with my child about alcohol
6. I never tell my child that drinking alcohol is a token of heroism, courage, essential to have good time or be a part of the group
7. I explain to the child that you should never drink and drive or have a ride with a drunk driver
8. I never say that alcohol may solve a problem
9. I look after my child since her or his conception - I never drink while pregnancy lasts
10. I don’t give my permission to alcohol sale and use by minors
