UBIEP (the Union of the Brewing Industry Employers in Poland) is an organisation which unites producers of beer in Poland – altogether it represents about 90% of the market.
The Union’s Objectives:
- Protection of beer producers’ interests in Poland – proposals, drafts of new legal, economic and organisational solutions submitted to local and central authorities.
- Representation of its members in front of local and central authorities, social organisations and trade unions within the brewing sector.
- Creation of an appropriate industry and product image.
Its statutory tasks contain conducting actions oriented at shaping responsible alcohol consumption. The most important area is the popularisation of the drinking culture and the support of initiatives aiming at limiting the access to alcoholic beverages to minors.
On the 1st January 2004 UBIEP joined a European brewing organisation - The Brewers of Europe. Poland is the first country of the new European Union’s members which joined the community of brewers before the accession.
